Biography: Born, 22 December, 1912 in Ravensburg, Germany, Died 7 February, 1994 in Berlin.

Wolfdietrich Eichler was suspended from his academic position in 1954 for resisting the teaching of Lysenkoism 1, 2, 3

His brother, Hansjörg Eichler (1916-1992), was a noted botanist in both Germany and Australia.
